Ever lose something mysteriously in the woods?

Axes, machetes, using a tractor and tow strap to relieve the pressure, whatever it takes.

Oops, I forgot to include the electric pole-mounted chainsaw im my tool inventory.

After around 40 years of sawing, I realized I could detach the head from a stuck saw, attach it to another blade and chain and saw the stuck one out. After I had both blades and chains stuck, I went for the tractor and loader.
Just another reason to call me,
Stuck

On the stuck saw--I used to carry a couple of plastic wedges and was able to un-stick every saw that I got stuck over the years. The plastic kept the chain safe from damage and got every one out.

On the newspaper and can thing--when I lived in New England, the guy that built the interior stairs put a fresh copy of the Bangor Daily News in before he closed things up. Said it was customary among finish carpenters to do that.

When we rebuilt a wooden section of our very old barn in Maine long ago we stumbled on an old "time capsule" some kids had left decades earlier. It was pretty neat with notes and small kid trinkets. The daughter then made her own time capsule plus replaced the old one and I buttoned things up. She included letters written to her dogs and what was happening around our small crossroads town. Fast forward decades later and we got a phone call one day from some little kids that had discovered them. Pretty cool to have history unfold like that.

Nobody ever lost anything mysteriously in the woods. If you lose something in the woods, it ain't mysterious. That's just what happens in the woods.

Man you just spoiled all our fun.. :) when we were kid we had a "Big Foot Sighting" around our area.. we were about 10 - 14, my brother, cousins and I.. we all went out looking for big foot.. with our dad's rifles of course. Now that was Mysterious.... and we never found him. Sound like he is still around though... stealing chain saws and Mickey ears and relocating them.

I lost a crowbar from my tractor in a field once and looked endlessly for it, I even traced my tire tracks with a magnet stick, waving it back and forth as I walked. I didn't care so much about losing it, other than what it would do to my disc mower if I mowed it. I never found it. It didn't really matter much once I found an identical one leaning up against the barn 3 months later :D

I'll bet you didn't even know you had an identical one.
