Kubota B2601 and L3560 HSTC LE
Ok, after getting some pricing on bigger Kubotas (40-50 HP), and facing sticker shock, I have been taking a look at Kioti tractors. Being orange, I figure the wife won't notice and will think it is one of the Kubotas.

I would sure like the L45, but after some consideration it is really overkill in terms of performance and certainly price, for what I want to do. The Kubota dealer also said that fitting those L40 Grands (of equal power) with BH and FEL will also approach 38-39K not much less than an L45 TLB.

Just lurking in the Kioti section, it appears that a similarly equipped (FEL/BH) 45 HP with hydro will be around 28K. Unless the quality is really crap, they seem to have some interesting features.

Have any of you ventured to the Dark Side?

OOps, wrong forum! Should be fun anyway!

I am sure you know that an FEL and an added BH does not turn an estate tractor, even a larger one, into a real TLB.

Sure you can move dirt and dig trenches, and it might very well be all you ever need, but a construction grade TLB is made to move dirt and dig holes all day, every day for many years.

The cost factor you mention is one of the biggest factors in my looking harder at NH than Kubota for our next tractor.

Maybe this is just unique to my area, but the Kubota dealer also handles NH and the prices on them are higher than the Kubotas according to the salesman.

It all depends on what you want to do with the tractor, If you have a lot of stump work and ditches to dig. Land with a lot of tress that need dig out and pushed over and clearing, I would still stay with a true TLB Kubota L39 , L45 , M59. John Deere TLB 110. Or an Excavator. But if you are just looking at doing basic loader work and around your own property, and have no intention on making any money with the tractor. A basic AG Tractor should be fine for your needs. Just remember you get what you pay for.

Actually, I quite understand that an L45 TLB is a different animal. I was comparing a Kioti to a Kubota L Grand Series. Given that my local Kubota dealer indicated that L Grand series 40+ HP would cost almost as much as an L45 once they were fitted with a BH and FEL, obviously I started looking eleswhere. I am considering going back to a manual transmission (I owned manual transmission Kubotas in the past) and considering the L 39.

The l39 is a GTS SHUTTLE Shift and not a true manual. But on the other hand a new or slightly Used L39 would be an excellent choice. Its a true TLB. And sholud put you in the ball park of the new kioti and maybe even less.

I went with a Kioti for the same reason. The price on the Deer and Kubota's were ridiculous compared to Kioti. I have had mine for two years and it has not failed yet. Cruise over to the Kioti section and do some research. There are people doing a lot of work with these tractors and have not been disappointed. Plus with most models you get more power, lifting capacity, and weight than a comparable Big Name, for less money.

I know I have not had mine all that long but there are some owners that have... get their opinions.

Not really; Kioti dealers and support are scarce where I live; same with Mahindra and CC.
