I've had quite a few customers asking me when we will get more PowerArc 280STH's in from all over. If anyone is wanting a Good deal on a PowerARC 280STH, let me know. This is a new unit, and we'd like to get as many out there as soon as possible. It's a digital unit, with DC Pulse TIG, and "improved" stick welding features. It welds up to 250 amps Stick, and 280 amps TIG. It' will run off of 1 or 3 phase 240V, so it will fit in most farm shops and small fab shops. The units are on the way, so let me know if you want one at a early order price. I believe as good as the PowerARC 300 is, the PA280STH will top that easily. From my experience it has better Arc force control range than the PA 300.

It is more of course, but this is something to compare to performance levels (but at a higher duty cycle and amp out put on 240V 1phase) to the Maxstar 280CST from Miller.

I've had quite a few customers asking me when we will get more PowerArc 280STH's in from all over including here on this site. They'll be here in a couple weeks possibly a little bit longer.

But, If anyone is wanting a Good deal on a PowerARC 280STH, let me know. This is a new unit, and we'd like to get as many out there as soon as possible and can offer TBN guys a good price. It's a digital unit, with DC Pulse TIG, and "improved" stick welding features. It welds up to 250 amps Stick, and 280 amps TIG. I believe as good as the PowerARC 300 is, the PA280STH will top that easily. From my experience it has better Arc force control range than the PA 300. It is configured along the lines of our new digital ext units with AC/DC. But this is from my perspective a better deal IF you only want DC output.

It is more of course, but this is something (imho) to compare to performance levels (but at a higher duty cycle and amp out put on 240V 1phase) to the Maxstar 280CST from Miller.

Im looking into a PowerArc 140, just for portability, don't need the tig fonction since i already have an MTS welder. I need something easier to operate than my AC/DC tombtone. What do you think?

I suggest the PowerARC 200ST. Dual Voltage and capable of handling almost any common rod. The PA 140 won't work with 6010. The PA200ST will. The PA 200 ST (if you have a 30 amp breaker) can run up to 120Amps on 120V. It's just about as portable. I think Canada is selling only the 140ST and the 200ST models...

You're right Mark, canada only has the PA140ST. I don't use 6010/6011, mainly use 7014 and 7018. Price wise the PA140 is hard to beat.

It is a good price for the 140st, but for the performance factor, the 200ST is the best deal, imho.

I have to agree. Even if you never turn it up past 130 amps, the PA200ST is not much bigger, runs 6010 very well and will run longer before over heating, and it's also dual voltage input. It's my favorite welder.

We sell a lot of both. I really want the extra capability on 120V, and it delivers. It is more efficient and requires less input amps per amp of output with the 200ST.

Mark ...I have this pluged into a 30amp 220 line and have run it at 120 amps. How far can I take it to safely? Love this machine and still trying to get acclimated.

Did my question just get put on ignore??
