Me too, I had a tombstone and went to the 200 ST and it is a great portable machine. Really impressed.

I am very intrigued on where you live and why your power is fluctuating. I thought the feds mandated all power recipients must receive reasonably clean power. I would be all over my utilities if I was not getting clean power.

Not sure about his situation, but around here we have non-profit "rural electrification associations" that serve areas the electric companies will not. Upgrades are few and far between. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Stuff that was installed in the early 1900s can still in operation today in some cases. Only the loudest squeaks get any oil. Key to fixing such an issue is be the loudest cog in the works; a.k.a. complain loudly.

That being said, inverter based welders do not have nearly as much issue coping with bad incoming power as older transformer units.

There is no way I could complain about our power. What do I say - I got a big problem. I have to turn my welder up on hot afternoons when you have peak demand ?? If you saw how hard the crews here work keeping the system together and everyone powered you would have nothing but appreciation like I do.

Well just got a phone call from EverLast. My PowerArc 200ST is back ordered until May 1st - Yikes, didn't expect that. Disappointing. And they already charged my credit card. I will get the bill next week. Hmmmm........... Got to give them credit though. At least they called me.

As noted in my quick review the other day (a few posts back), their computer systems don't seem to be the most sophisticated.

I would be willing to wager a bet that the website, online shopping cart, inventory system, and internal customer database are all totally separate systems that don't really work together without the human component (their customer service reps and perhaps additional back end office staff).

I would say the online shopping cart has no access to the inventory system to know if it were in stock and it processed the order so the product could ship to you ASAP.

I do agree it was a very good thing that they called you. Many companies these days would wait a week before contacting you, and even then they would just send you an email.

The fact that every time I have called I got an answer, and it was the answer I wanted, coupled with the fact they make a great product for the money; they can count me as a customer for the foreseeable future.

With your poor power source, I'm sure you'll notice an immediate improvement of the stabilized power output of the inverter. Drop a couple side by side test beads when you get it, I bet there is even visible evidence of the improved arc output.
