In my opinion Travis needs to man up and satisfy unhappy customers. Just good business practice and I would take it offline and make a phone call. Letting fanboys do the attacking in a public forum is not professional.
At least the fanboys has gonads
Asking an equipment question (partially out of curiosity, and partially for future reference): on the EA disk harrows are there recommended torques for the gang axles? (Specifically ETA-XD-LG-BF-DH-20-18)
Looking at other manufacturer's recommendations the trend seems to be that the recommended torque values are close to (or aligned with) the recommended torque values for grade 2 bolts of the same diameter.
While (from my understanding) everything should be tight enough that the pans ring when struck I'd rather not get to the point where I'm causing damage because something else has gone awry.
Travis,
I知 looking for a post hole digger for my JD 2025R. Bout the size of a 2601. I致e watched all of Teds videos. He almost says which one he prefers for a B series then gets sidetracked. So which one do you guys suggest? The compact or subcompact. I see they are the same price. Most likely I値l use it for setting 4x4s in concrete for a shed addition to barn and some deck post repair.

Concerning our B Series and your 2025R, one could really go either way. Our Land Shark Subcompact PHD comes with a 36" length auger. One complaint about tractor post hole diggers is their tendency to get stuck in difficult soil. The subcompact model features a shorter boom, which keeps the auger closer to the tractor and increases the tractor's lifting ability in difficult soil. This greatly lowers the likelihood of getting it stuck.
We've sold our EA Compact PHD for B Series/2000 series Deere tractors, and smaller, for years. It features a 48" long auger as well as a longer boom to ensure sufficient ground clearance.
Here's an illustration. It shows a "normal" sized unit with a longer boom and our subcompact model on a BX tractor.
ALL of our post hole diggers for Category 1 tractors ship FREE to your home via FedEx Ground within 1,000 miles of Newton, NC.
