Expanded metal grill

Searched but could'nt find the photos where someone had made individual frames w/expanded metal to fit between each of the upright shanks of his grapple. Thinking about needing to do this myself, and at this point a few more pounds isn't going to hurt. Thought it might be in the ATTACHMENT forum. Anyone recall seeing this recently?

I saw it too. The best alternative was the heavy duty welded mesh screen IIRC. The expanded metal isn't quite dent resistive enough.

At the top of the picture you can see the expanded metal grille guard I have on my JD750. This was done AFTER I bashed the nose of the hood in using the FEL to load a tiller The outside "hoop" is what JD is pleased to call their grille guard. I cut a piece of heavy expanded metal I had laying around to fit and welded it inside the hoop.

You'll also notice a homey-made skid plate under the front axle. This was installed after I bent the third tie-rod beyond repair by straddling unseen stumps while bush-hogging.
