When I first started using the internet (CompuServe days) my passion was motorcycling. That's where the "Rider" comes from. My ancestry is clearly New England "Yankee', having a Vermonter dad whose heritage is a combination of Native American and English settler from the late 1600's, and a French Canadian mother.

I'm yet another Dave, and I shoot- airguns, mostly. I hang around airgun forums and when I first logged on, I needed a name in a hurry. "Shoot" is also an approximate rhyme with the common mispronunciation of my last name.

When I got internet service, I didn't want my full name out there, so I put "B" in front. I feel a deep kinship with the land of my ancestors, Native American Indians. Thus Bindian.;)

After intensive research going back to the early 1700's using county records- this County was the first county and the home of the first governor of this area under British rule, long before it became the state of North Carolina. The various Indian tribes called this part of the tract of territory Creekbend due to the winding and the bends of the creek. The entire County land tracts were issued by the British realm and the County is named after Caswell, the first governor of the state of North Carolina. The land tract was once so large that it was later divided into four counties presently in existance today. Allamance County, Orange County, Rockingham County and Person County. The creeks' name is now called Penson Creek. This is the name of the general area that we live on in Anderson Township. Now as "Paul Harvey" used to say--Now you know the rest of the story. From Creekbend. Happy Tractoring.:tractor::tractor:

I'm a musician, when I'm not forced to work. I play guitars, bass and Irish bouzouki. I'm also a bit of an experimental hobbyist, so I'm always trying something new. A few years ago, I decided to build an all-tube electric guitar amp from scratch, as all the new stuff being mass produced is of inferior quality. Did I mention I'm particular about my sound? After months of research, I stumbled across a brand new design that has the unique ability to sound like many different brands and styles of amplifiers with the simple twist of a knob... all without any digital modeling or chips of any kind! I knew I had to build this little marvel.

After construction and testing, I determined that it needed a name plate to make it official and professional looking, but what to call it? It did indeed produce many marvelous tones. Also, keeping with the tradition of various members of the forum I was on, I also thought I should name it after two very important women in my life: My mother, Arlene Marvel, and my grandmother, Marvel Erliss. Thus, Marveltone!

I have also since built a couple of effects boxes with the Marveltone name attached.

I worked in the event industry for years before getting my current 9-5 job. I provided lighting and sound to many events, shows, and concerts. It was an easy email address for people to remember. Now I use it out of habit, and it's easy for me to remember.

Combustix is the mineral eating rock monster from the leggo power miners set. My eight year old thought that would be a cool name. I guess it's better than being a black cat called snowflake.

Mossflower Woods is what we call our property.

It is from a series of children's books I read to my daughters nightly for bedtime stories. It is called the "Redwall" series by Brian Jacques and there are like 21 books in the series. We love them and the "language" of these books has permeated our conversations at home indelibly.

Mossflower Wood is where the Redwall Abbey is located so when we bought 51 acres of mostly mature timber, we picked "Mossflower Woods" as the name.

My name is David.

If I were to include bowling in my handle, I'd be "MossflowerWoods110ifI'mLuckyonaGoodDayWithaTailwindand Bumpers" :)
