I could articulate it in the middle like a log skidder if it becomes a problem! *grin*
It will have the same wheelbase as a cab n chassis crew cab with 60" CTA/9' bed, and only 4" longer than standard 8' bed crew cab.

Actually saw an F-450 platinum with a double crew cab today. So it was a six door short bed dually. Looked Awesome. Wish I could have gotten a picture.

Home safely last night... thanks to all for the congratulations. Called off work last night, but now it's back to the grind...
To guys like Dave who don't read my signature (*grin*), little Caleb is #7, (not 'like 15' but it feels like it at times!) Oldest is 16, almost 17, oldest girl 15 in a few weeks, then 13 G, 11 G, 9 B, 3 G, and Caleb. Good bunch of kids, thrilled to have a little brother.
Kevin: That F450 would have been cool to see... too bad you couldn't get a picture. I have always liked the look of a short bed dually, and even kicked around the idea of going dually on my project, or doing an extended cab short bed dually... short and wide!

They already make such a beast, its called a Mega-cab and its powered by Cummins! It doesn't look as big inside as what you are making though. Congrats on the new baby and good luck with the build.

Since you mentioned liking the proportions of a short-bed Super Cab, here's a pic of the truck I just bought last week. It's an '08 F-250 XL with 80k on the gasoline V8. Not many goodies on it, but I'm liking being back in the cab of a truck after driving the Jeep for the last 10 years.
