"That's heavy water from the nuclear reactor I built last year!"

I thought that was lead based paint. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Anyway, nice job on the boom pole.

The boom pole looks great. I have one that I made and it telescopes out over 25 ft in 3 sections. I put a pulley at the end and attached a electric winch at the bottom. This way I can set poles and trusses by myself. I extended the winch control so that I can be 30 feet away from the machine when lifting. The boom fits on a Case skid steer. With the boom retracted I can pick up over 1000 lbs.

What did you make your telescoping one out of? What method did you use to attach the various pieces? Was it just progressively smaller square tubing?

What is the breakout force rating on your loader and the length of your boom from quick attach to tip? Oh and what material did you make the boom out of?

Wow what a great job. And the paint job, Great effort was put into this one. I like it. Wish I had a removable bucket , so I could use forks and a pole easiler. Its amazing how much less lift power the extra distance of the bucket and forks makes.I reciently make a pole also after seeing these posts. i will post a pic soom. Mine is el cheapo... 4.50 dollars for bolts and hooks.
But again your looks almost more than a store bought pole.

here a couple of pics of the one I made. it bolts through three holes that I had in the bucket bottom. and I run a chain from the upper hook to te top bucket hook. Its 8 foot long. Capacity? good question. but I only use it for light duty.about under 700 lbs. Sorry for the pics so big.

The bucket end with the bolts to hold it on the bucket.
I have a siliar pole that I made that is longer, it has a hinge to the part that attaches to the bucket. and on the end instead of a hook, I put a small piece of cutting edge. I use it to move the brush and ambers in a bone fire. And reciently used it to clear snow from the roofs . Ill post one pic later.

I admire a person who will finish their job, when they know they will be using a tool for years to come. Paint job I am referring to.

Attached is a pic of mine (unpainted). I did install a elecric winch on it.

Wow, just how long is that thing? Looks like it must be 24' or more! You should put a flashing beacon on the end of it to warn low flying aircraft. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
