Looks like Ford is recalling over 2 million F150's. There is some kind of device that fires off if you get in an accident to tension the seat belt. This can start a fire in the B-pillar area and burn the truck to the ground. Sounds like it affects regular cab and crew cab trucks built from 2015 to the present. I have a super cab and it appears it doesn't need recalled since there is no B-pillar on the truck.

Wow! Totally amazed here - a recall that does not affect my 2005 F-150.

More amazing, a recall that isn't for one of my RAMs.

Ain't that the truth. I currently have 2 recalls I need to get taken care of on my Ram. One for the fuel tank strap and the other for the park interlock pin.

I just scheduled the recall work on my 2018 Supercrew at my dealer for next Friday. When the recall came out they said they couldn't even sell a new F150 until the recall work was completed on it. I am still kind of amazed at having an explosive device in the seat belt mechanism .

kf4uda - Chris - I would bet its the same type explosive device you will find in your air bag also.

Sung up the seat belt just before firing off all those air bags at you. Found a bunch of airbags when I ran the dash cam wiring thru the pillar and headliner.

That is 3 ford recalls I need to get done. My 2016 F150 has new flaming seat belts and the misbehaving door latches. My wife's car has the shrapnel air bag (passenger side).

My 2005 F-150 has some kind of recall on the airbag wiring harness. First notice - seven years ago. After being called THREE separate and different times - to come on down and get this fixed - showing up and Ford having no idea why I was there - they DID NOT have the repair parts. I sent them a registered letter - asking that they discontinue sending me these false alarms. Haven't heard from them now for over three years. I expect they will NEVER get the repair parts and I will NEVER again receive a recall notice. Life is good.
