F350 to F450 suspensions

Well as an update i took the plunge. Im still of the opinion that these things cost way too much. But the dealer was patient with me.....actually ordered the truck from the factory last june with every option i wanted, with no pbligation on my part. Negotiations continued/stalled for 8 months. Finally hot to a number that i liked....and pulled the trigger. In the meantime my 06 dually had another issue that is currently being fixed....guess thats my sign....lol.
Not going to put airbags on right away. This suspension seems/feels/looks beefy. I used to have big slide in campers that weighed 4k+ , the bags really helped with them. No plans of doing that with the new truck, at least not now.
Appreciate all the input!

So you ordered a new ‘20 F-450?
I am shopping F-550 and RAM-5500’s.
So far coming up looking like I’m going to the RAM for the 42,000 GCWR.
I’m pretty much a lifetime Ford guy, but I’m ready for a change.
I’d be perfectly happy with either, or a GM.

Got a 19 450 KR. The interior looks like a range rover and it rides way nicer than my 06. Mightbe a bit too quiet tho....lol

I have 3 6.4L
They are not all that bad. The DPF is the evil part of the engine. The transmission, axles and rolling chassis are excellent and haven稚 cost me a dime.
I have a combined 16 years of ownership on the 3. 1 needed rocker arms at 178,000 miles ( early 2008 units had inferior rocker arms). One needed a sequential turbo replaced at 125,000. The 3rd needed high pressure fuel pump at 100k. Only 1 truck has a small amount of rust, because previous owner left it outside. I may have to replace an oil cooler in same truck.
If you can get them cheap enough, which I did, they pull excellent and run strong. Once you own them a while, you begin to understand they were not the most dependable diesel ever made-mostly due to the DPF, but you also begin to understand that the internet hysteria you read about the 6.4 is overblown. I値l put 10 years of weight tickets hauling hay against anyone痴 other similar size truck. The 6.4 is a very good puller.
If you delete the dpf, I hear theyæ±*e excellent. Mine are still all bone stock and have 1/2 million miles on the 3. I bought all 3 used and have less in them than a new F-150.

you are one of the few that understand that motor. A 6.4 that's deleted is a power house. Those international bottom ends don't break, the griddle is unbelievably big, same on the 6.0.

The low pressure oil pump takes out the rocker arms. The new pumps fix it. The turbos need to be worked, hauling something is the best workout it can get.

I really liked my 6.4. I hauled an all the material for my cabin up to 10k feet for 3 summers with it. Its rough and steep, but it pulled like an ox and never quit.
