Do they have the video to show how much faster it is to lift the cab off to rebuild the engine compared to opening the GM and Ram hoods, LOL!!!

I saw the cab and front end off many GM trucks also, my 05 being one of them.

I looked up the labor to R&I the engine for 2012 1 tons 4WD desiel automatic trucks, everything equal.

F-350 w/ cab removal 13.5hrs w/o cab removal 14.7hrs

Sivlerado 3500 17.1hrs.

Ram 3500 16.4hrs

Yea, its back and forth. The Ford just barely trumps the Dodge but smoked the Dmax.

I will be in the market next year for a new diesel if my job situation is stable. Yesterday if I were to buy it would have been Dodge with a Asain but today its Ford after watching that.

You changed your mind? I thought you probably weren't going to buy another diesel?

Not to be a smarta$$ but it takes more than one video to make me choose a manufacturer. To me there is a lot more to a $60k investment than just being 21 seconds faster up a 7 mile hill climb that I would not very often see. I am not saying one truck is better than the other, just that a manufacturer-published video is not enough to sway me one way or the other, especially since you would have to get the 4.30 rearend to even have the advantage.

The only thing my diesel trucks do is move big loads. They never move with less than 12,000# behind them.

I was convinced a few months back that a large gasser could do what I need but now not so much.

Like I said, it all will come down to job stability.

Did you hear that ford is coming out with a heated tailgate. Yup... They are doing this so your hands don't get cold when you are pushing it. Lol

Obviously to be used interchangeably, however its very funny. I remember back in the day them saying this about bumpers. It brought me back .... Lol

That old F550 has much heavier axles, wheels/tires, frame and likely brakes.

I keep hearing people say the half tons today are more truck than a 3/4 ten years ago. I don't buy it. I think the ratings may be getting close due to the engine/transmission advancements, but there's a lot more to it than power.
