Where痴 the spike The traditional favorite beach vollyball sport, officiated with a few rules to keep the ball in play. To benefit the normal group we play no spiking or blocking and use special team play rules.
Fill er Up: In this wacky relay, players don swim fins and hard hat with an attached water-filled tumbler. Individual players must take turns as they waddle to the team receiver and dump the water into the tumbler, which is attached to a pair of goggles on the receiver's head. The receiver must be lying down.
Whale of a Time: Two groups of five players from each team take turns maneuvering a Whale suspended over their heads, while balancing a limbo pole between their knees. Picture a group of Whales racing through a sea of cones!
Bucket R Us: Teams line up and try to progressively pass buckets full of water, while holding them high over their heads, down the line to the last person who dumps the water into a bottle. The last person then races back to re-fill the bucket and start the brigade again. Oh yes, our buckets have holes!
Team Cheer: Creativity, enthusiasm and delivery are the criteria for judging this event- Teams creatively write, choreograph and perform a group cheer, rap, song which will complete the games.
Ring of Saturn: An entire team joins hands in a circle, facing out, with one team member inside the circle. The team then must move across the competition space faster than the other teams. Then, return!
Clothing Contortion: String tied to a spoon, long string! The team lines up one next to the other, and has to pass the string-tied spoon under their shorts and shirt and handed off to the next person, until the whole team is "Strung" together. Then they have to "unstring" themselves. First team to complete this maneuver WINS!
Up and Over: The team members line up one behind another. They pass a large plastic ball alternately over their head, then under their legs, from team member to team member. The ball must pass both up and down the line, more times than two if time is available.
Big Ball Relay: Line up, relay fashion. One team member starts out with a big ball clutched between his knees. He must waddle down the relay lane to his teammate, who puts the big ball between his legs and continues until the relay is done!
Rag Time Relay: The first two members of the team dress in outrageously over-sized clothes, run together down the lane, step inside a hula hoop on the ground, exchange clothing without stepping out of the hoop. After getting redressed, in their partner's clothes, they run back and give the clothes to the next team members.
TEAM BANNER DESIGN
We start with a blank white banner, and add art supplies: paint, brushes, felt, scissors, glue, stencils, ribbon, mylar, glitter, and more. We then give the participating teams a time limit and a subject to base their banner on, and off they go to create the most attractive, creative, clever, and fun banner imaginable based on the subject matter you select. For instance, a new company product, a company slogan, a team name, or the fun they're having in Palm Springs, are all possible subjects!
STEVIE WONDER VOLLEYBALL:
The team takes the volleyball field. The more players on the court the better. They each take a seat on chairs out on the court. They don a blindfold, and Stevie Wonder sunglasses, too, if you desire! The referee begins the game by tossing out the large beach ball. And then the game continues like normal volleyball with the team members doing their "sightless" best to get the beach ball over the net. The number of points required to win can be adjusted based on amount of time available to play.
GREASED WATERMELON:
The team members line up one next to another, equal numbers on the various teams. The greased watermelon starts at one end of the line, and must be passed from one team member to the next. When the end of the line is reached, the last person must roll the watermelon around a traffic cone, then pass the watermelon back down the line to the start. First team completed wins. Dropped watermelons are OK as long as no team member misses his turn to pass the melon. If the melon is broken open, the team is disqualified.
EARTH BALL:
This game is played with the large earth ball, and is similar to soccer, except that the team members must assume the "crab" position, on all fours with their back to the ground. They then maneuver the earth ball with bodies, feet, legs, head, hands, as best they can , staying in the "crab" position. They try and make a goal against the opposing team. Time limits are placed based on the amount of time available to play.
TENNIS TIME:
Tennis played with ping pong balls and badminton raquets, is funny and difficult. We can adjust the rules and game lengths to match your players age, and skill level, and amount of time available to play.
PICK AND CHOOSE:
Another fun tennis ball event, we set-up brightly colored open-ended tubes marked with different point totals. One team at a time participates in time trials. Half the team pitched the tennis balls trying to get them into the tubes for points. The other half of the team is in the field rebounding. Talk about tennis balls flying - this event is colorful and fast!
TRAVELIN' SALESPERSON RELAY:
Divide your team (equal numbers of participants required on each team) in half and line them up facing each other in their racing lane. To begin, the first runner opens his suitcase, puts on the "Travelin Salesperson" costume in side, then runs down the lane to his teammate. Then the first runner takes off the costume, puts it in the suitcase, then hands off the suitcase to the second runner who repeats the actions. First team to finish or best time wins.
WAITER RELAY
IZZY DIZZY RELAY:
To begin, the team members line up one after another at the start (equal numbers of participants required on each team). The first runner takes the plastic bat and runs down his lane to the end, where he must place his forehead on the bat handle and run around it (twirl) 10 times. Then he must take the bat back to the start and hand-off to his teammate.
CLOTHING CONTORTION
String tied to a spoon, long string! The team lines up one next to the other, and has to pass the string-tied spoon under their shorts and shirt and handed off to the next person, until the whole team is "Strung" together. Then they have to "unstring" themselves. First team to complete this maneuver WINS!
TENNIS BALL SCRABBLE
All team Captains are given a large crate full of tennis balls, which have letters painted on them (there are also tennis balls which are not marked for wild cards). Team Captains stand at one end of the playing field where they simultaneously bend over and throw tennis balls through their legs towards tream members. The waiting team mates then build as many words as possible (scrabble style) within a short time period. Each ball used in a legal word is worth one point and the team with the most points wins!
CENTIPEDE SHUFFLE
With your teammates put a lightweight pole between your knees and travel as a group around the cones to the finish line.
OUT OF SIGHT N' SOUND
Players are challenged to get in numerical order while blindfolded and not permitted to speak. Herein lies the communication challenge.
HUMAN SCRABBLE
Each player wears a letter of the alphabet and must lie down next to the teammates in order to spell out selected words for point value.
WET N' WILD
Players don flippers and hardhats with mounted tumblers. Tumblers are filled with water and players walk to opposite end of the lane and pour into receiver's pitcjer strategically placed over their face. The first full pitcher in this crazy event wins!
THREE-LEGGED RACE:
This event can be run as a relay or a straight race with team against team. You can put together two people that don't know each other, that specialize in different business areas, that are opposite physical types, etc. The legs are tied together with bandanas at the ankles. The two people must work together to run and win.
WHEELBARROW CROQUET:
Three teammates must work together in this relay event. One person is the wheelbarrow, with the other two holding his ankles. Together they navigate a croquet court, using a ping pong paddle and a ping pong. They must go through all the hoops in order, then hand-off the paddle and ping pong ball to their next set of three teammates.

WATER BUCKET RELAY
We line the teams up sitting on the grass, one behind the other, and each team member has a small paper cup. At the head of the line sits a large bucket of water. At the other end of the line, is a measured container. At the Referee's whistle, the team member begins filling his paper cup, then without turning and over his shoulder, he pours it into the person's cup behind him, and so on. This can be timed as to who has the most water after a particular amount of time has passed, or whichever team reaches the mark on the measured container first.
PHOTO SAFARI:
With a Polaroid camera in hand, and a set of riddles to solve with "visual" answers, the teams head off, with a time limit, to come up with "solutions" to the riddles using Polaroid photos. They then prepare a poster with their photos, for the Referees to judge for creativity and completeness.
EGG RELAY:
Divide your team (equal numbers of participants required on each team) in half and line them up facing each other in their racing lane. Give them all a tablespoon. The first runner holds a tablespoon with an egg on it. He must hop one legged down his lane then pass the egg to his teammate, not using their hands, only the spoons. If the egg drops, it can be picked up with the spoon only (no hands) and the race continues. If the egg breaks, the team is disqualified.
PICTIONARY
With flip charts and markers, our Referees challenge one drawer to get his team to guess the WORD in the time limit. After each drawing, we get a new Drawer to the flip chart for major participation from the team!
RIMBALL / FOOTBALL

MOON BALL
With a huge Beach Ball, we gather a team all together, and tell them they have to keep the Beach Ball aloft as long as they can (with hands only) without it hitting the ground, with a point for each hit. The tension builds as each team approaches the "world record"!
SPIRIT CHEERS:
Throughout the games over the three days, the referees at the various events can select a team as winner of the Spirit Cheer for enthusiasm and team support.
FRISBEE GOLF
Our colorful Frisbee Golf Containers can be placed all over and everywhere, then our Referee starts out a team and sees how low they can keep their score as they go through the "Golf Course".
TUG-O-WAR
FIELD HOCKEY
With goals set-up, teams compete against each other in the classic field hockey game to score and win. We can add silly rules to this by using a BIG BIG Ball, instead of a puck. Also, we can adjust the rules so that some of the team kicks and others use hockey sticks. OR, we can allow only children to score OR only women can score! Keeps things moving and keeps everyone involved!
ROPE JOUSTING
We place two competitors on low boxes. We give each of them a rope end to hold. Then, with the whistle, they have to try and pull the other person off their box or the rope out of their hands to win!
