Thought this was handy advice. We tend to do modify our walk "like a penguin" naturally when we're on ice like a lake or pond. I guess the real problem is when we don't know we're walking on ice, so maybe this advice doesn't help much.

I like their suggestions. I'm a fairly safe fall guy from lots of practice in martial arts, but there's one thing they left out. If you're carrying anything, get it away from you if you fall. I took a header a couple years ago carrying a 5 gal pail with salt in it. When I went down I'd have been ok, except I cranked my arm around as it went into the bucket.

And certainly keep one hand free all the time, to deflect your fall.

I would always plan to bounce correctly if I fell....I can't even do that right anymore.
