Fan disintegrates!

I don't know the layout of the DK4510, but when my wife got a stick jammed into the fan and cleaned off all the blades, I had to pull the entire cooler pack out to get at the fan.

It's been a while, but I think I was able to swing the AC condenser out of the way, tweak the hydraulic cooler lines slightly, unbolt the shroud from the rad and lift the rad straight up.

At that point I was able to get access to the hub bolts and replace the fan.

Given the nature of my failure, I didn't want to risk there being a leak in the rad, so I sent it out to be tested. I had no interest of pulling it back out any time soon.

I also took the opportunity to do a full coolant flush since I had everything apart anyway.

Reminds me of my brand new 69 Ford Bronco. Put a high tech fiberglass fan on it. First time we forded a creek - fan hit the rising water - grenaded into a thousand pieces.

So much for high tech. Put the OEM steel one back on .........

Got new fan and belt installed today. Easy task. Take the air intake hose off. The upper radiator hose off. Take the bolts loose that hood the air cleaner plate. Two bolts at top of radiator that hood it down and lift and swing radiator out of way. Didn’t even lose any coolant. Well maybe two or three drops. Tractor was leaning to one side under shed.
