Sorry to hear about your dog Pete.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

Just over a month ago our Bally quietly lay down on the back patio and went to sleep. He and Rascal, our Chow, were life long buddies of 11 years.

I found a very nice final resting place on our two acres, near a young pine tree, for Bally. It was heart wrenching for my wife and me.

Ten days later, Rascal died. Several medical problems escalated in a very short time....but I suspect he missed his buddy and could not survive without him. They are buried side by side.

We feel you loss and your pain.

Mark and Teresa.

Pete,

The love of a dog is one of life's most cherished gifts. The love Alex gave you will never go away; he'll be part of you forever.

It seems like every time I start getting highly annoyed at my 10 year old Ridgeback (he's such a smart little imp), someone posts a tale of another four-legged compadre taking that final journey. Then I just choke back the emotion, give ole Bert a big hug and let him lick my ice cream bowl clean. Godspeed, Alex.

You have my sympathy. It's never easy losing a loved one.

I just came back from the vet this morning where I took my three for their shots. As I was writing out the $300 check and thinking about all the other expenses over the years, I was teasing my wife about them being the most expensive $10 dogs I ever bought. I come home, read this thread and feel terrible. I think I'll go give my wife and the dogs a hug.

We (wife) lost her two rottie within 2 years and her shepards with 6-months of eachother.
