Oil & Fuel farm or road diesel?

/ farm or road diesel? #41
just how do you know what information is correct or incorrect...?

I don't and I am asking for proof. If you are going to make a claim, then you need to support the claims. Just like a paper or report you wrote for high school or college, you have to support your claims. Doing this stops the spread of misinformation.

Do you really want the FACTS to interfere with this stimulating discussion?

Where do you guys come up with this crap, do you lay awake at night thinking of up controversy?

Mud - Post an authoritative source to support your claim or recant.

Wanye - Pictures or it didn't happen. How can you consider the gas station clerk an authority on fuels.

It is just not right to propagate incorrect information. If you are going to make a claim like the two above, then support your claim or don't say anything.

Like I said in my original post on the subject...I'm not trying to start a war here. I am an operator in a major oil company in south Mississippi, have been for 20+ years, I make, blend diesel for a living and farm for a side job. Expert...no I'm not, I am just stating the facts as they are as they may help someone make a decision about their fuel of choice. I personally don't care if you put gasoline in yours, I'm just trying to help.

You would think that a pdf of this technical data would be easy to come by. It seems not, and we are forced to use hearsay and otherwise unsubstantiated claims.

Nowhere in technical papers by Chevron and the API could I find that off-road diesel was allowed looser filtration specs than highway diesel. Everywhere I look on the web, everything indicates that they are largly the same.

Then you are in the wrong place...Internet message boards are not clearing houses for bottom line facts... FYI, dissertations are not required.

So by your line of reasoning, anyone can make any claim. And questioning said claims is not allowed, because this is the internet.

You can question stuff posted here, it's just that some will get their panties wrinkled up when you question what they say. :D

I only believe about half of what I read on forums.
