The head gasket became leaky for a reason, either the block surface, or head surface is slightly warped, or your coolant anti-corrosion inhibitors became weak, used up, allowing damage to the head gasket. I would check the block top for flatness, as well as the head surface. I like both to be perfect, or at most out 0.002". These should be checked first before installing the new head gasket. If out more than 0.005" you should consider having them resurfaced, or planed flat. On to the head torque sequence and amount. You can look up head torque for diesel engines and your size bolt. The sequence is usually pull all bolts down just snug, then starting at the center bolts work to the outer bolts with a cross pattern approach. First around 25 ft lbs, then 50 ft lbs, then increase by 10-15 ft lbs till maximum head torque is reached. Allow several hours to pass, then check maximum torque again. Most likely hasn't changed. Some modern engines have stretch bolts. Pull maximum torque, then another 90 degrees, or some want another 180 degrees. Doubt you head is like this. Work the sequence from center slowly to outer bolts alternating cross bolt pattern. Hence center bolts, then left upper right bolt off center, then lower right bolt just off center, then lower left bolt just off center, etc., till all the bolts are done. Does Farmtrac offer a manual, or look on the engine tag and look it up that way. I believe that Farmtrac is a Long tractor?, and possibly built by LS Industries.
