This was more of a pictured "Supper Shopper story. I was looking for a 3ph backhoe and this guy had a JD for sale. No mistaking the JD decal! Drove some distance, only to find out it was some home made thing with green paint and a JD Decal. The kicker is, that maybe a couple of years later, I drove even farther and got fooled once again by the SAME backhoe, different seller!

Was the backhoe advertised as a JD or did you just assume that by the paint.

I posted a 20 pound bottle of NOS on crags list, you know the Fury Road size, and not one minute after posting, my phone rings.

Ten minutes later the guy is giving me the cash.

The funniest thing i ever sold was a weenie pump. Here is the ebay text:

<p>As it turns out, my father had been prescribed this hand operated ***** pump when he underwent a turp operation and he was sent home with it from the hospital.</p>

<p>Anyway, the pump was never used and my dad put it in a box in his work room. The pump is new and comes in a convenient zippered carrying case with accessories as well as an instructional video for its use.</p>

<p>I'll ship the pump in a plain box.</p>

I have used CL for years to buy and sell, Most all the transactions good. I have even had decent luck by putting my number in like four7nin thirty-six 1four and get people that are truly interested. I have thought about setting up a Google Voice number but I have had this number for years with not many bad spam.

I sold a Grand Cherokee WJ front factory plastic bumper on there a few years ago. I put it on the Jeep's hitch rack and I was hoping the guy who wanted it had a truck. No, he had a sedan. Ended up sticking it through the truck and out the passenger window with one of the seats folded down with the truck tied shut.

I guess were just nice. We don't advertise we deliver, but we are in a rural area and we want whatever we have gone and some extra money for it. Since we are always having to run to town for something I usually text or call the potential buyer and see if they can meet or if they are on our way to our particular errand. Usually they are very thankful and meet promptly to get the item.

and one guy actually bought 2 aircraft from me.

I sold a 10-1/2' truck camper to a guy and his honey for $850 but was worth $1100. I just want it gone because it was in my pole shed taking up space for 5 years and never used it. It was on a big cart for pushing it around.

He gave me the money after he checked it out so we started pushing it to the center of the shed to get lined up with the truck. But as soon as we hit a slope in the concrete it got away from us and didn't stop until it punched a 1x3 in" hole in the aluminum side. He looked at it for a minute but never said anything, but his wheels were turning.

We loaded it up on his 3/4 ton newer short box Ford. I wasn't going to let the mounting stuff go but I gave it to him just to get it out of there. It fit a GMC but we must have spent 2 hours cutting and grinding and drilling and welding in order to get if doable. But I was glad it was gone.
