There aren't any diesel engines we use that can substitute gasoline for diesel fuel. The old Duce & a Half was multi-fuel but they are all gone now for the most part. All the Army stuff has to be compatible with JP-8 in accordance with DOD Directive 4140.25 and AR 70-12. JP-8 is the primary fuel for the battle field but diesel engines must be compatible with JP-5, Jet-A, Jet-A1, JP-4 & Jet-B is gettting hard to find. It is HIGHLY recommended that a VERY GOOD fuel additive be used with these fuels to keep the pump and injectors lubricated. I use John Deere fuel additive in my Kubota and Cummins and the Army uses this and other additives. We run our John Deere 4710 flight line tractors on JP-8.

Nice looking tractor... I had a 245 DT had 1200 hours on it when I bought it...and 1460 when i sold it 8 years later...it was a great little tractor...it an 82 model and it didn't have that first oil leak on it. My gears would grind a bit from time to time...but it was an amazing machine...hope you have a much luck with yours as I did with mine... I have a new L3010 now....its real nice too...hard to work in seat time and deer hunting at the same time....lol

Have a great day.
