For the EZ Attachments, I got a quote of $350 from a Kubota dealer for the 48" bucket of the Mahindra 2015. The dealer I'm buying the tractor from has it for $300.

The EZ Attachments company (Kathy Mohr) tells me the suggested retail price for the 48" is $333.

This may be more than the Markham Welding would cost, but I believe the design is superior for my application. Meaning the bucket strength of these classes of tractors is not like that of industrial tractors, and they could always use some help.

You can order the Markham bar right from the manufacturer for the lowest price and get it delivered to your home in about 2 days. Email or phone them for a quick price quote which will be much lower than the competitions and their delivery is very inexpensive also. Markham Welding - Tooth Bar :) I think that all tooth bars reduce your backdragging ability, but remember, you only have to remove 2 bolts to remove them.;)

With the EZ the teeth have the added strength fro the top and bottom edge overlapping the buckets cutting edge. Those of you with experience using these toothbars, will you please give me some advise. Also, I checked with a local dealer and got a price of $450 for a toothbar. Based upon tallyho8's posting, it sounds like someone is trying to rip me off. I should mention that I have a 5 foot bucket so I would expect it to cost more than a 4, but not 300% more. Looking for a little help here.


When you backdrag it will not be smooth, the teeth will leave a nice little trenches. The teeth of the Markham slips onto the cutting edge of the bucket so if you were able to bend the toothbar you will also be bending the bucket.
The 60" Markham I got last year was was a little over 200 bucks total including shipping.

Now, that is what I can't see when I look at their Web site. I was thinking that the teeth just extended past the cutting edge. I could not see anything under the cutting edge. That is the reason for my concern about bending the bar inside the bucket. Can you tell me about how much metal is hooked on the underside of the cutting edge of the bucket?

The cutting edge is usually at least 1/2" thick connected to the bar which is 1/2" thick. I don't believe that you have to worry about bending this 1" of metal with a 45 hp tractor.

I am a big fan of the tooth bar. 1st don't hesitate to drill into your bucket or Weld hooks or whatever you want to do. I have an ATI tooth bar with replaceable teeth. Trust me I have abused the **** out of it. From digging up stones I couldn't lift, Digging a small pond, clearing about an acer of scrub and small trees, Putting in a fire road into the woods by knocking down trees. I have never bent or broken anything. I have back dragged brush and back dragged crap out of my creeks. As far as smoothing ground by Back dragging I scoop a bucket of dirt for wt, Curl the bucket,drop it & float it and backdrag. The only time I take the tooth bar off is in the winter to supplement my snow blower if need be.

Hey Timber, I like the looks of those clamp-on forks. I need some forks but I have been concerned about bending the bucket on my Mahindra 2015 with the clamp on type. From your photo I can see there is quite a bit of surface area bearing down on the top of the bucket lip - more than I thought there was in the typical clamp on fork.

Have you done "abusive" work using those forks, too with no damage?

I have been looking at the bucket style forks which mount with a shaft on 3 hooks welded to the top of the bucket. While more expensive, that design seems a little more beefy to me. The weight is distributed across the 3 hooks, just seems like it would be stronger than the clamp ons if you positioned the forks about 1/3 of the way from each end hook. And if the end hooks were close to the where the loader arms attach.

Here's the EZ Attachments toothbar I just got on my new Mahindra 2015 HST. I have some envious neighbors now. One has a JD CUT with no teeth and I think he is going straight to the nearest dealer to pick one of these babies up - there are several dealers around here. He is a very technically oriented person who has his own welding equipment, works on airplanes for fun and manages technical work on Delta airliners for a living. He thinks the design is superior for tractors like mine and his.
