FEL Valve assembly issue - DIY or shop?

Regarding the missing ball bearing. I took apart the valve on my log splitter because of detent issue and lost one ball bearing. Strangley enough the loose ball bearings in my bicycle hubs were an exact match. I had just replaced the bearings in my bike so I had plenty. A good bike shop will have a selection of loose ball bearings for rebuilding hubs. Could be useful if you need them on a weekend when the bearing house is closed.

A final comment just in case it may be useful to someone.

After True temper guided me through the solution to my leaking control valve issue, I assumed all would be well. I put in new o-rings and all was well. No leaks. Until - After using the FEL for a while (a few days as I recall) and under load (i.e., pushing into and curling up to move dirt in somewhat hard ground, I saw it leak again. Well, I took it apart checked and replaced o-rings and again all was well for a while - until a few days later, again under load - a leak. I thought of everything that could be causing this - wrong size o-rings? Nope. Nylon ring worn - didn't appear so. Took it apart again and examined every part. By now I think I could take it apart and put it back together blindfolded. But then I recalled that when I was taking it apart again the two screws that held down the spacers which in turn held it all in tight were looser than they should have been. I retightened them again. And believe me, I was really tightening these screws each time - to the point I was concerned the allen wrench was bending and concerned I might end up stripping the groves in the screw head. I did not think it could be tighter - but now when taking it off again the screws were much looser than when I put them on. So - maybe the oil got down in the shaft and was letting the screws loosen up under pressure? I put it all back together and this time added a lock washer outside - just under the screw head, and again really tightened it all up. So far so good. Posting this just in case someone else comes to face this. I am assuming I have now fixed it.
