I thought that looked like walnut laying on the ground. Glad you got the fence out. I've done a lot of fencing with that type of fence plyers, not the easiest to cut with, but for what you had, it got the job done.
Fencing pliers are always in the toolbox. Actually a very innovative tool that can be used for a lot of things besides fencing. Never leave home without em.
