I found some pictures I took on 3/16/1993, just 3 years after my Granddad died. The land hadn't really been kept up for about 5 years at that point. I decided to try and go take the same exact pictures on 3/16/2009 and merged them together, just to see the difference. Maybe in another 15 years I can take another set.
Little background (for those interested):
My Grandparents had a 200 acre farm in East Texas. My Granddad was diagnosed with Colan Cancer in 1987, so they sold off all the animals and most of the equipment and leased the land. He passed away in 1990. From that point on, my Grandmother lived on the farm, but just left it leased for cattle. Fast forward to 2006, she passed away. My Dad inherited the land at that point, but it's remained mostly untouched and overgrown. This year my parents decided to officially move to the farm, and hopefully restore it to what it once was. The land has been in our family since 1879.
Few old silo's & milk barn:
The old highway (now paved) that splits the property:
The workshop. That's an old Farmall 504 sitting there - the only tractor they kept. The shed portion got damaged during a storm, so we removed it several years ago:
I couldn't get these to line up exactly, but the RV shed is spot on. Notice the cell tower that went up.
I thought they were interesting at least.
