Since I'm home all the time now on injury leave from work and have been since before the 4th of July, it's seems that "someone" keeps jacking the thermostat way up into the high 70's because, "I'm cold!"

Am I the only one that likes to live like I'm inside a freezer, plus have a fan blowing wide open? I cannot sleep otherwise.

I am like you. I sleep at about 69-71°, with a fan on too, and under a light sheet.

Wife is under a blanket folded, and in the winter, under an electric blanket.

We don't fight, though. Just 'agree', so to speak. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Our thermostat is set at 77* in the summer and 68* in the winter. Once set, I activate the "HOLD" and then activate the lock. The ceiling fans run all year round. The house stays very comfortable set at those temperatures.

We usually keep ours set at 80 during the summer.

My mother-in-law stays with us quite a bit during the summer. (Oh the joys of marriage! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) She wouldn't leave the t-stat alone... Up-down-down-up-then do it all over again. I TRIED to reason with her. Tried to explain things like temperature "balance" and the economy of LEAVING IT ALONE! I even went into the "IT'S MY HOUSE" rant. Nothing really seemed to work. (And my wife is scared to death of offending her mother)

FINALLY..... I HAD ALL I COULD STAND.

Wife and MIL left for a day of visiting other relatives. I unhooked the t-stat, then re-installed it on the wall. I then put ANOTHER t-stat in my home office. (Where no one would ever think to look! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Now when MIL starts jockeying the tstat up and down, I just sit there, snickering, with the knowledge my house will be comfortable, and that I actually won a round with TWO women! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I think we need to honor you in some way. Surely this must be a historical first /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't want to do anything that will call attention to what I did..... I won a battle, but the war rages on! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

It used to be that way before the wife started her "change". Now, it is usually very comfortable. And, yes I'm a polar bear too.

I used to tell her, It's easier for you to add something, than me to remove something, and besides, I can only remove so much clothing! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Maybe if you ran around in your underoos, she'd get the hint! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now there's a mental image I could just as easily done WITHOUT this early in the morning...........

Brilliant!

I'm lucky, I get full control over the temp in the house. I like it in the low 70's with a fan on in the bedroom at night. It makes my wife so cold by morning just the top of her head can be seen sticking out from under the heavy covers on her side. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
