thanks guy for the input. I kind of thought large rocks would be needed, a culvert is even a better idea, or maybe one little bridge over it so I can get to it to cut it with my 4110 jd. the trouble is the way the ground lays I would be crossing it from left to right with every pass. I think I better just leave it alone and make it like two boxes, cut one box then cross the ditch and cut the other box using a bridge or culvert. Hay its nature let it be I guess.
thanks guys.

One thought... I've seen people clear brush from a drain area... only to allow the water to move much faster and generating erosion where much less existed before...

I'd leave all the brush along and in the drainage area proper... except for the place where you need to cross... There, you could install a culvert with rock on the sides and on top... making a roadway over the drainage area.... and I'd let the road way dip if possible at the natural drainage point.... thus if a gully washer comes and is too much for the culvert, then it will wash over the road and stay in the natural banks... Just a thought.

good and welcomed advice. I also thought I would plant some grass for water way that I used at my river camp banks with some luck. I am taking the clearing slow as to not remove all plant life becasue this 1.5 acres is all in a steep valley. So I clear a bit then sow grass or ground cover. Cutting large vines out of the trees as I go. Some of the vines are as thick of my arm. Most be very old but they are choking the trees.
Any way thanks for the advice.
