FilterMinder....

No, that's what I suspected and am glad to have it confirmed. Too bad it's not a guage, just an idiot light, but I guess they are right with the light - I'd probably ignore a guage after a while. I tend to change air filters every couple years anyway and don't have too awful much dust. Thanks, Jim

Older Ford L9000 and others use one that threads into most Fleetguard filters on the oem's.. I found one at work that triggers red at 20" I think it was a Donaldson part#, sold under a Ford # /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If I remember on Monday, I'll post back the actual part number I used.

I *think* 20" is a bit low; the impression I get is that 25" is standard for diesels. I did have my hands on a 20" unit if that is one's preference--it fits a Walker mower that has a Kubota engine.

I guess the worst thing about using a 20" indicator would be that you would change your filter a little more often.

Have 2 GM trucks and 1 GM/Isuzu truck all with factory fitted filter monitors; all with GM part number and one also has the Donaldson logo. Wix/NAPA Filters markets them also. NAPA part # 4800 is a direct mount 1/8" pipe thread, 4801 is for grommet mounting with a 3/8" barbed nipple, 4802 is a remote mount version for underhood mounting on a remote bracket for easier visability and include tubing kit, 4804 is a dash mount version and also include tubing kit.

NAPA is pretty proud of that unit...$47.49 on their website. The 20" model off the Walker was less than $16 at a Case IH dealer.

I don't doubt it; some of the items that Wix buys from outside sources are priced way out of line. The website pricing is not the lowest , most independant jobbers can sell for much less on a "rebateable " fleet account.

My thought is that since the air is as important if not more so than fuel, I would prefer to change it too often. I wouldnt think 20" is too low. Better than a dusted engine... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

How about $4.50 plus actual shipping.
These are new, surplus military indicators that were used on gas and diesel generators. Made by Donaldson, I think.
I have ordered many parts for these units from this company, and the indicators will fit right on any engine intake with a 1/8 thread.
they are new, but surplus.

Thanks for that link. I've bought stuff from Saturn before for my M151. Good outfit to deal with.

I just received one of the restriction indicators from Saturn.

They are made by Donaldson and although it would work, it is not ideal for this application. They are 30" units and have no graduated scale, so it either shows "no restriction" or "red", meaning it's hit 30", which is, in my opinion a little too much.

I think I am going to go with the one from Filterminder.

Ok, Finally remembered to check the one I used...
It's a Donaldson # X002251 or Ford # DOHZ-9N622-A. I'd sell em at 14.00 if someone asked, but list price is $25.63, (closer to NAPA price).

The Powerstrokes (7.3 and 6.0) use one that just attaches via a nipple, but I am unsure what the HG rating is on it.

Milkman The one i got from Saturn came with a 1/8 brass filter fitting that you screw into it before you install it. I called one of the tractor dealers and they said the ones they sell have them on theres to. He said something about they could draw some dust through the FilterMinder. I told him mine came with 30'' on it and he said that should fine.

If you're talking about the one pictured on the Saturn site, looks like it is for a filter housing with female threads, I already have the male threads on my filter housing so if I used one from Saturn, I'd have to remove the adapter to make it work.
