I've wanted to build a bridge across my creek for a while now. I thought about a culvert, flat bed trailer, etc but settled on wood both for looks and because wood is easier for me to work with. I also thought about engineering it to hold a truck or tractor but gave up on that since the bridge length wound up being almost 24 feet. I was able to use 3 beams so the longest span was almost 14 feet. It will be used for people, ATV's and horses. The only thing left to do is build up some approach ramps. Thanks to everyone here for their ideas and help.

Some specs:
length: 23'+
width: 8'
max height above grade: 5'
beams: 3 - double 2"x10"
joists: 7 - double 2"x8", 12" OC (glued and bolted together)
blocking: 2"x8"
decking: 2"x6"

And some pictures:

Looks good Rob. Very sturdy. What's the plan for ramps?

Horses ?

Edit; Never mind. Missed the 12" oc joists the first time.

I'd take a CUT across it.

I have an excavator coming this fall to do some other work. I may have him move some dirt to make the approach ramps.

Yeah Rob, looks really good and the wood theme fits nicely in that creek crossing. Looks pretty sturdy too. I don't think it will fail myself.

Nice job - sturdy and looks good, too.

The weakest link is where the beams parallel to the creek bolt to the posts. Watch those bolts for rusting over time.
