Welcome and congrats. Yes, get a skid plate first thing. BroTek is the best.

Another cheap mod is to get worklights for your ROPS. A great help if you were working late and it gets dark.

Have fun! And don't forget the pics.

Congratulations on your new machine. You are going to love the heck out of that grapple too!

Congratulations on your new machine and welcome to TBN!

You will love having a BH and I would highly recommend getting the thumb too if you haven't included that. For New England with rocks you will definitely use the thumb and its great assistant for holding logs cutting firewood among other things.

Enjoy and post some pics when it arrives

Great, thanks for all the welcomes and replies. I will take pics and post them once I get it. I'd love to add the thumb and skid plates as some have suggested too. I may have to add them a bit later as finances allow. Now the hard part is choosing which project to tackle first. I'll try to start easy so I can learn to use it without breaking anything and then progress from there. Thanks again.

The skids plates are excellent insurance against a big costly repair to the HST fan. The thumb can wait. Maybe that is how you sell it to the better half.

Good deal you got. I bought mine a few months ago and also got the MMM, I think it was $23k for mine....you got a good deal.

I would say yes buy or build yourself some under armor (not the clothes) for your machine. You look at that fan under there and think how in the heck can anything get up in there...but trust me it does. I have not lost the fan yet, but the rubber bootie has been damaged. I would also look hard at the BXpanded piranha tooth bar (PTB) and/or a Ratchet Rake, they are two very different tooth bars, and they will bring a TON of more usefulness to your new machine. I think that they are a must, and are good at two very different types of jobs.

I would also say unless you are using diesel fuel pretty quickly stay away from bio diesel. If that stuff is left in the tank it will start to grow. Most people do not use fuel that quickly on the little BX, it is pretty thrifty on the fuel. I have not had that happen myself, but enough people have told me this that I do think it is fact.

Only other thing I would say is if you plan on working after dark get yourself some other lights, the lights on the front of the tractor are quite good, but with the loader on they get blocked quite a bit.

I have been very happy with the little machine, you will be shocked at what it will pickup and move. I don't think it is the best mower, but I don't think you got a deck. Let the air out of the tires and it mows much less bouncy. I have a bad back and a bumpy yard. Keep us updated, I think you will love the machine and be shocked at how little fuel it uses to get the job done.

Great, I don't even have the tractor yet and am already thinking I need the skid plate, some lighting, and at least the tooth bar (especially after looking at videos online on how much more bite the FEL has with one of those on). I'd also love to get that mechanical thumb for the BH and a 3PH log splitter that I can run off the tractor's hydraulics. I've got around $1-2K left for all of this. Here's to hoping I can find room for all that in the budget. Thanks for the advice. It is nice to not have to buy something and wonder if it will be a good purchase since there are so many others that have the experience to share with me.

Personally I suggest to do the skid plate, then Tooth bar/thumb is a tossup, then the splitter. As the splitter is going to run $800 range and here is my setup on the front with the splitter.

Just hook up and go - running the lines to the BH connection (15' long hoses) no need to remove the BH.

Thanks Carl_NH for the pics. That kind of splitter is exactly what I'm looking for. I don't want to have to buy a whole other engine and hydraulic pump since I have one on the tractor that I should be able to take advantage of. I'll be looking for something like that once I get the tractor.
