Gary,
If you're having a tough time deciding if it's worth six bucks, you'll probably really balk at this one. I finally found the seat swivels on Cabela's site but they're a whopping $7.99. But, it says they do have a nice powder coated finish and it says they have stainless ball bearings. Don't know if that's worth an extra two bucks or not but if you're interested, here's the link./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Actually their 12 way locking swivel base looks like it would really be the way to go. But gee whiz $20.99, that might just break the bank.

That really does seem like the best way to go. /w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif I never even considered that the other ones didn't lock in place. My pucker factor kicks in quickly enough when I run over a log or something now without the sensation of turning around on my seat, too. I don't see much need for ten of those twelve positions, but one facing front and one for the backhoe would sure be nice. I have to admit it'd be kind of cool to just swivel the seat over when I'm climbing off, too. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I can't believe all I've gone through when the solution is this cheap and simple. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif I only wish I'd known this two auto seat bases ago. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif Oh, well... I probably needed the exercise. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thanks for all of your help, everyone.

Gary yeah probably to many positions. and yes there are times that I wish the one I have would lock into place. But over time one gets used to some inconveinces. However its also been a godsend for dealing with a chronic stiff neck from an accident years ago.

After all isn't that the American way. Inventions for foolish people from more experianced foolish people.

Gary,
Since you had asked, I got the bill today from my dealer. Final cost was $434.00 for the unit. No shipping was involved as the middleman brought it with him to the local farm show.

Hoss -

Nice looking canopy - since we're on this subject, can you post the URL link (or links) where you looked for these?

Thanks!

Hoss,

I ordered a twelve position swivel seat from a local boat supplier yesterday. I've got to believe it's probably the same item. It's supposed to be here in a couple days and my total will be $24.35. I didn't check the shipping at Cabela's but figured it would have bring their price up to about the same money. If I spend a dollar more here I'll figure I'm doing my part for the local economy. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

It's going to take a little drilling on some 1/4" stock to let me attach it to my existing seat base and my seat to it but that shouldn't be too difficult. I'm sure I won't be so lucky as to have those four (or even any two) holes line up. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
