Finally got my new canopy

Not positive as I haven't tried it at full rise, but possibly not. I did have it probably 2/3 full height and found that I had to "look under" the front edge of the canopy to get full view of the bucket. A normal sized person probably wouldn't have a problem.

I have the tall, folding ROPS also. The standard one wouldn't do either of us quite as much good, I don't believe. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I'm still "engineering" my swivel seat option. The prototype from an Olds Cutlass has been replaced with a "second generation" model from a Ford van. It appears to be much heavier duty. If I get this done and working well I'll pass on what I did so maybe you can try it.

Can't wait to see the results. I have a 83' Chevy Van with Captains Seats that need a new home. The thought of a swivel captains seat on my old Yanmar is intriguing.

On my old Kubota we replaced the seat with one those replacment ones that they sell at Walmart for bass boats. It both swivels and the back folds forward. Heavy duty vinyl, aluminum frame. Its been there almost 10 years and has held up well. Paid $49 for it then, there still there at less than $100.

Russ, could you post a couple pics of that set up? I might be trying to reinvent the wheel here. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif I'd hate to think I've been worrying too much about creating something myself that I've overlooked a cheaper and better solution.

Gary still don't have a digital camera or scanning capability. But I will try to find someone who does. I've just got to get with the program one of these days.

This is a real simple retrofit. I even used the original Kubota spring suspended seat base.I only had to drill 4 new holes in the seat base for the swivel portion is aluminum and heavy duty, simular to a lazy susan.

I was also reminded that you should be able to find these seats at any boating supply store.

I may be wrong, but I think Russ is talking about a boat swivel from Bass Pro Shops. I must be way too into the DIY thing. I just looked at the first link you sent and am now of the belief that for $5.99 I can just put that swivel base under my existing sliding mount and seat to have exactly what I want.

Of course, that would mean I don't have to go to the auto boneyard and cut out any more interiors and break nuts free from bolts that have been out in Indiana weather for years. Or that I don't have to air chisel or cut things off. Or have these things cut and welded to fit. Or make repeated trips to the automotive hardware house.

Yep Randy has found exactly what I was talking about. The seat on the Kubota looks like the "Deluxe Boat Seat $37.95" on the Cabelos web page. I have an aluminum swivel, but it looks the same. Been in service almost ten years, and still going strong.
