Tractor
Mahindra MAX 28XL, Jinma 254 (Sold)
Ordered a (crate) Jinma 254 with creeper gear, hoping to get it before it snows. I hear a lot about flushing all the oils out of the new tractors. What is everyone using to flush them out with or are they just doing early oil changes (run for a few minutes change oil, run for an hour change oil, etc.). Anyone ever buy or build an enclosed cab for one? Thanks, Ash

I recommend kerosene, its specific gravity is better for the job than diesel fuel. Do it as soon as you get the tractor assembled and running, then again at 50 hours before replacing ALL the filters (with the possible exception of air).

I read where one guy wasn't terribly dissatisfied with one of those universal softside cabs. Another guy at the New York owners website is building one outa plexiglass and aluminum. But for what it's worth, I'm told that you can't have a cab AND a front loader on these small Jinmas. Either-or, but not both.

Congrads, hope the wait goes well for you ;-) Did you end up ordering from the guys in Barneveld? Choose a fel, or put it off for another day?

PS: Greg covered the flushing very well and I don't have experience with any cabs.

I did a crate jm354 and is a good investment. I took fuel tank out in back yard and flushed throughly and replaced Jinma tank shutoff/stainer with a quarter inch standard valve from hydraualic parts house. Those factory fuel shut offs have just pin holes for fuel to flow thru. I've got the best starting tractor and give that modification credit. Jinmas are good basic tractors with a little wrenching on them now and again it will serve it's purpose, so enjoy. bjr

Mitchash, where did you order the Jinma from and may I ask what the price was before shipping. I am looking into buying one of these tractors as a back up unit for my business and I'm trying to see if there is a whole lot of difference in price between crate and assembled. Thanks.
