Well, I did it. I ordered a Hypertherm 45xp with a 50 ft. torch. Can't wait.

Congrats! First thing I figured out when I fired up my new 45XP is that I badly need a cutting table with some kind of dust collection, water tray, or something. I see now why so many plasma cut outside of the shop. Holy cow, I couldn't stand the smell and debris in my shop the next day and I really didn't cut much. It's been so cold that I haven't played with it since Christmas day, the first time I used it.

Coincidentally, MY table just did a dump today. :D

That might be my next project, to build a downdraft table. I'm thinking of rigging it up to an exhaust fan with something like a dryer vent to send the smoke outside.

Ha! I was going to ask you Terry how exactly that worked when I saw your design earlier. Do you have downdraft venting ability too?

I use a Miller fume extractor. For just a few quick cuts I don't bother.

Gonna have to look for used one but I imagine it is too much a specialty item to get a good deal on one. I think I watched Jody's vid awhile ago. Will have to review.
