I had one I recharged with air compressor, rubber tipped nozzle put in end then pressed lever to fill watching gauge.

These have schrader valves.
Putting one on the big Massey next.

Something like this helps to keep the debris off.

Add some dish soap to the water to reduce the surface tension of the water and it will be more effective on hay fires.

Ditto on adding liquid dish soap or a product called "Fire Out". One doesn't appreciate the importance of a fire extinguisher especially when rd baling until you see a FIRE behind you. BTDT yrs back.

What do you do to prevent freezing?

OOPS I forgot about my water charged fire extinguisher during the 0°F temperature we experienced last week & I didn't empty it. OH WELL all my pipes survived so it could have been worse! :cool2:

I just have a small ABC strapped to the ROPs on my little tractor. I wanted it when brush hogging last fall as I have seen sparks from rocks or hidden steel fly out from them decades ago on the farm, grass wasn't dry so no issue then.
I guess we were very lucky, never had a fire on a tractor or implement brush hogging, raking or baling all those years. I don't even recall a fire extinguisher on any tractor or implement back then.

Now days I have them every where! I have a FE in my pickup, in the TJ, on the tractor, 1 in the boat plus a suppression system in the engine bay, a couple in the toy hauler and 2 or more in the house/garage and shop and so far only used one years ago on someone else's pickup that caught fire but I arrived too late and it burned until the Rural FD arrived.
