A couple of months back I sent out a query about buying a Landscape Rake and got lots of replys, even one about "First Choice" implements. I was a little skeptical at first because I hadn't seen much about FC even after getting an email from Pieter and another from JimMc. I'm located in So. Maine and there were no dealers in this area either so nothing to look at, touch, or feel. Pieter sent some pictures that made them look just as rugged as the Land Pride or Woods. Well to make a short story longer, a was on vacation and stopped by First Choice in Wilson, NC. There is such a place and they do have a good looking line of equipment! Pieter gave me an excellent price and I decided to pick up a 60" rake while I was there, plus it saved me the shipping costs. Pieter even tried to match my Cub Cadet yellow paint but that wasn't available at the time. They didn't have any wheels in stock but I will probably order some in the future. I hope to use it in the next week or two and let you know how it stands up.

PS: How necessary are wheels? Do I really need them or can you manage without them?

Was there an option of a fold down/fold up blade available on the rake you bought?

MAJMAC392,

Have you tried out your new rake yet? How do you like it. I have recently exchanged emails with Pieter regarding FC implements. I need a 5' rotory cutter and 6' rear blade and rake. Being an engineer, I like to touch and feel before I buy. Just wondering your first impressions.

BTW, I am also in southern Maine (Limington) and own a Cub Cadet (7360). Are you nearby? (you haven't filled out your profile) /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

To Gary in Indiana. No to my knowledge they don't have an option for the blade on the rake.

Bruce I'm over in Raymond. If you are over this way you are welcome to look at the rake. I have a Cub 7234, either 4 or 5 years old. I am not an engineer, (I have argued with a lot of them when I was in uniform), but I like quality, durable equipment that will stand up plus being able to get repair parts is a plus. I'm getting ready to use the rake this afternoon. I need to rearrange some dirt so my wife can put in 'another' garden.

Gotta go.
