First day experiences (long)

Boy if this guy has dreams like that what will happen when he actually has the tractor. I bet his tractor will grow into a Steiger or something like that. I really do feel sorry for his wife though with dreams like that one.

As the owner of a 33D I can picture the angle of my tractor sitting in the hole left by such a root ball. Come to think of it, I have several of them on my property currently in the back-fill process. Good news is I paid $300 for a days worth of EX300 work and left Blue in the garage.

Wow I thought I was reading "The Secrete Life of Walter Mitty" by James Thurber, if Walter Mitty had a tractor /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Keep the imagination and magic, for when you lose it you grow old.

This wasn't a dream, just a tall tale. I haven't had any tractor dreams
yet. Might be interesting when I do though.

Glad everyone enjoyed the story. I detected a slight drop off
in TBN traffic and felt like doing a little creative writing.

Thank goodness you live in Illinois.

With that story you seem to have covered all the recommended "don't do this" moves. Nylon rope is interesting isn't it?

I was on a Coast Guard 44 when I was in Sea Exploreres and they showed us
the tow rope. They used Nylon at the time, because it needs to stretch and
give with the waves, but they had a thick steel grid across the stern in case the
tow line broke. The size of the metal in that grid gave me pause at the time. It
made me realize just how much force might be in that nylon rope. Of course,
that was inch and a half rope if I remember correctly.

I'm still waiting for my 4110. Seems the power beyond kit is late. They have everything else. But it's been raining off and on for week, so it doesn't bother me that much. If I had the tractor now, I would be out in the garage sitting in the seat saying "vrooom, vrooom" and making shifting noises (even if it is hydro).

Then again, would it hurt to have a lower floor in the garage? I'd have more headroom. Maybe I could be digging a root cellar in the corner for potatoes and such.
