First Dealer Test......

I do understand your frustration! Honestly think the dealer should have had all the filters in stock for your machine. My dealership has not charged shipping on any normal maintenance item and if he did I would simply laugh and walk away. He did however charge me shipping on a repair manual but his price for the manual was much lower than what I could find it for anyplace else. He did say something to me before he actually ordered it that he could not get it with his normal shipment for some reason and that is why he had to add the shipping cost. Now he could have easily added the shipping cost to the price but for some reason he prefers to show it separately on the bill and that's fine with me as long as the overall cost is less than I would be paying if I went online and had it shipped to my door.

Most times with filters and such I call ahead to let him know I need them but sometimes due to my business we are passing right by on the way home so we stop in. To date he has not failed to have my filters in stock and ready to go the same day. When I call ahead and stop a few days later to pick them up everything is set aside in a box and ready to go when I get there.

I used all Kioti parts for my first service. For next oil change I used a NAPA filter. Easier to get and cheaper. I doubt that a korean filter is any better made than an American one. The fluid filters might not be available from anyone but Kioti, but at least that is only every 400 hrs.

And you can source Kioti parts from the net MIE is one, you can find others thru Google. You'll still pay Kioit prices (I guess) but you'll save on travel. A shame your dealer didn't value your business. Mine does.

This is the kind of stuff that's best sorted out BEFORE you buy a tractor from anyone. I looked as hard at the dealers as I did the machines.

I felt comfortable with them when I first went to the dealership. I asked about parts and was told they are available and if it is special, Kioti is right down the road.

No matter how hard you look BEFORE the purchase, **** can and will still happen. Either way the little amount of time I plan to spend at the dealership didn't make sense for me to spend an extra $5000 for a machine of a different color simple because of the dealership could POSSIBLE be better, but no guarantee till they are needed.

I agree with your perspective on this. One additional thing I would do, though, is take a few minutes to make a phone call to the dealer's general manager (or owner if it's a small operation). I'd dispassionately let him know how you feel the dealership has treated you in these post-sale matters. Let him know you try to support local businesses, so you wanted to be sure he understands how these relatively minor things can leave a good customer like you so disappointed that you're questioning how much they really value you as a new tractor owner.

I dealt with the owner. It is a small family owned business been selling Kioti for over a decade.

There isn't anyone I can speak with that is part of the business that wasn't involved in the miss management of my exchange with them. Unfortunately, or I would.

Lesson learned and warranty work will be all I give them unless I absolutely have to for some reason.

Dealer should have filters in stock. My dealer is a small deal, just him, a mechanic, and a front desk person. I can drop by there anytime, and they have all the regular maintenance parts in stock. The only part I've had to get (oil drain plug) was available in a few days. The front desk guy is usually clueless (I had to tell him the hydro and tranny filters are actually separate on the HST model), but the owner is great, and knows his stuff. With the Case and Woods dealers I've dealt with, minor parts are always in stock, major ones just a few days out at most.

My closest Kioti dealer is 45 minutes away.
I don't have a clue what they carry in stock, I never go there.
Haven't been to a dealer in years. If I need a part I call on the phone or order online.
