Was by my local dealer today. Always have to ride through and see what new is on the lot. Had 3520 and 4120 sitting side by side. After seeing in person definitely think you made a good decision on the 4000 series.

Also got to see my first 5055E cab unit. Just this evening wouldn't have been able to mow under the trees with that cab but boy it sure looked inviting with temps in the mid to upper 90's.

If you have the hours to spend cutting 75 acres with a 6ft bush hog, all you need is about a 45 hp tractor, but the trade off is time for money, you may want to go 8 or 10ft maybe more and that dictates your horse power needs of your tractor. $0.02.

I never rushed to do all the mowing at one time. That 5055E with a cab sounds nice. I looked at a power reverser unit but it was just a little too big for using it around the house.

I suppose you are right. If it was only a few trees and I stayed in one place that might be the answer. Just something about the cab makes me have visions of busted glass and/or fiberglass and big repair bills for the wooded areas I often work.

I can only imagine what a new windshield or rear window would cost, let alone the doors. Last spring I managed to find a stick just the perfect size to fit through the screen protector on our Cat D5N XL at work. I backed up less than a foot and the window had more give than the stick did. That window alone cost over $900. Accidents happen, I just don't think a cab is for me for the time being, maybe next time around I'll feel differently about it.

Rear endows on my 5525 aren't nearly that expensive.

If it says Cat on it, chances are it will be expensive. It's good to know the John Deere glass isn't that much though.

That is only because no "green" is used in the glass manufacturing process.
The 4x20's are a good upgrade to th 3x20's if you want to do more heavy duty tasks. All iron tranny and axle housings, and planetary final drives:thumbsup:
