They are the most powerful Agency of the Fed Govt, yes, more power than the FBI, CIA NSA and DoD. They have amassed that power by being able to convert mere regulations into law and under their umbrella of things they regulate are 2 key items that affect everyone in the US without exception:
1) Carbon Dioxide, CO2, the very air we breathe and exhale from our lungs. Anything you do that creates and generates CO2 they control from your BBQ pit to your lungs.
2) Water, H2O and they control all surface and below ground water with only a few exceptions...you swimming pool is one, but they control your water well, your roof run off, your septic system and your water use!
