Ok Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a question. Do or have any of you ever set up a Non-Profit Organization or know any one that has?

I understand that if I were to set up a Non-Profit Organization... that businesses and people that made donations, would have a completely 100% write off for their Donations.

I have contacted an attorney to discuss setting this up for my Truck Patch Garden project. I am sure that it will cost a plenty to set this up. Some people I have talked with said possibly up to $5,000.00. I sure hope it doesn't cost that much. I have an appointment this coming Thursday with the attorney. I need your input soon please.

I have even talked with a person that has 40 acres and they have told me that they would donate the use of this land if I got set up as a Non-Profit Organization. I would really like to have a organization that was capable of helping more people than just our immediate area. Maybe even ship some food to Soup Kitchens.

Any input here would be Greatly appreciated. Pro and Con for what I am thinking of doing here.

Thanks,

Jim

Would you believe that I have lost 38 pounds doing this? I was 210 and now I am 172. This is going to help me in my health as well. I was somewhat over weight at 210 and 5'11"... just goes to show you what God will do if you follow his lead.

I got 135 Georgia Collards Transplanted today and 57 Purple Top Turnips Transplamted today. It doesn't sound like I got much done today /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif... I guess Transplanting just takes longer. I watered them as I went and they still wilted. I have also put the sprinkler system on them this evening. Maybe they will pick up and get going soon.

Another 200 Georgia Collards Transplanted today and 120 Purple Top Turnips Transplanted. I will take some pictures in a day or so to show how they are doing.

We gave away another couple of messes of Turnip Greens today. I only wish I had more land to work. Seems like there is a lot of land in 2 acres + that I have but when it comes to having a lot of food... I would enjoy having atleast 40 acres to tend. The more I am out there working in the Truck Patch Garden... the better I feel and I would love to do more. Of course I haven't gotten all mine planted yet but transplanting some plants where I sowed them too thick will fill up large portions of it. I have more planted and growing than I expected this winter. God has really made it produce and allowed the weather to work with planting. We are suppose to get rain Thurday so I have one more day to transplant before the rain. It should be great for the transplants to get rain from the heavens.

Have a Great Evening... I am going to eat a mess of Turnip Greens tonight with some fatback. Fruits of labor are delicious /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I repaired some of the things that caused erosion and transplanted 135 ft of Georgia Collards on Wed. Oct. 5th, 2005.

The tropical storm Tammy is giving us much needed rain but in down pours this morning Oct. 6th, 2005 7:45 am EST... I walked out and checked Truck Patch and it seems to be handling the large amount of rain fairly well.

We are supposed to get from 2 to 5 inches of rain in the next 2 1/2 days. Hopefully this weeks work prevented a lot of erosion and with the transplants the rain should give them a good start.

I will take pictures after this rain and we will see if the things I did prevented the erosion... if they did, I will post them here and maybe it will help others prevent erosion before hand. I am sure some of it was my mistakes but I feel I have learned much from some of my mistakes in life... especially in gardening. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Have a safe day.

OH MY!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif During the rain today... a huge tree from my neighbors across the right bottom corner of my Truck Patch. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Picture will be added as soon as the rain slacks up. Right across my hard work /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I will get it up as soon as it drys up enough to get in ti and get the tree removed. I will post picture ASAP of tree and maybe the damage won't be too bad.
