Chains won't hurt asphalt unless you spin. Even that just takes the coating off.
Do your tire chains damage your asphalt at all? That was one of the biggest reasons I never tried chains.![]()
1*You need to keep it in 4wd on any slope because even on a slight slope you don't have any front wheel breaking in 2wd.1*Just as I was putting the tractor back in the garage I noticed....that I hadn't even had it in 4wd!
2*You need to keep it in 4wd on any slope because even on a slight slope you don't have any front wheel breaking in 2wd.2*I normally do most of my plowing in 2 wheel drive and try to save the four wheel if I really need it. If we get a storm of 8+ inches then i use the four wheel drive for the entire plowing.
3*I hope the first fatality was not a freind or relative.I use chains, cause I don't want to be the next fatality in my driveway.
3*the first fatality was not due to ice).
we got a b26 with a 54" blower on the back but no ice chains here just a few small hex head sheet metal screws in the r4 tire lugs made a huge difference both in the wet slick packed in ice like snow and on the ice
