Flail Mower Flail Mower Height

Hello,

I'm thinking of purchasing a flail mower and park my 285 Bush Hog.

I maintain food plots, so therefore, I do not want to mow shorter than 4" to the ground level.

Question:

Can a fail mower be adjusted to mow 4-6"?

Maybe a double spindle mower might be better.

Shouldn't be a problem. Check the specs. on the flail you're considering and even then, you could adjust the height a little more with the top link length. I think most flails can be set 4" or more though.

About your mowing needs for your foor plot-


A flail mower will create small clippings that will degrade
quickly and avoid having any issues with dead spots.

any of the flailmowers from the united states or italy
are more than adequate for you needs.

You have a bit of shopping to do that is all as far as the brand.

A used flail chopper might be better for your needs.
It will depend on your useable horsepower.

as quite often they have new inventory including flail mowers
for sale every week.
