Flail Mower Info?

Hi:

Can anybody speak about flail mowers for finish mowing? Is the cut quality good? Does it mulch up the clippings? Is there much maintenance.

I'm trying to compare them to a rear finish mower.

I have a 72" flail mower on my JD3720 it works well, I would say it cuts half way between my 84" Bush Hog mower and my 90" finish mower as far as quality. It mulches fairly well it does not follow terrain as well as finish mower or give as even a cut. Not worries on rough rocky terrain. A decent compromise mower but not a replacement for a finish mower if quality is an issue, but could possilby replace a brush mower on high grass/weeds and small brush.

Thanks, I'll think I'll stick with a grooming mower. I'm looking to Maybe get a big (84"+) rear groomer or large flail but cut quality is of first importance.
