I carry the Bushnell Tactical LED light ($39.99 @ Walmart) in my patrol car and Stream lite ($112.00 @ Amazon) on my duty belt. For the difference in money I'll replace the Stream lite with the Bushnell when it dies. uses lithium ion batteries and is extremely bright.

They have other models with multiple modes (high/low/strobe). I prefer a simple on/off.

That is a decent flashlight but the one I reference in a previous post also has the zoom feature which is very handy and useful and with more features and is a few dollars cheaper. They both use the great 18650 batteries.

I'm a Streamlight fan. Here's my Streamlight compared to a 3 cell LED Maglite. Maglites are more suitable for hitting someone over the head instead of producing light.

A friend bought me a Duracell Alluminum LED with adjustable focus, that she got at costco. I had her pick me up another pack of four, different colors. GREAT flashlight, super bright, good price, but I am having trouble with them, and have been meaning to contact Duracell. Reminds me of the junky old plastic flashlights you had to hit and shake to work. Anybody else come across this issue with the Duracells?

Yes, same package of 3 but you can not change the focus of the beam on my model (300)

Very bright but I've had Duracell batteries pop inside the housing and the batteries somehow drain when not in use.

You can not find a better flashlight than this one for under $25 and it only costs around $5 with free shipping. I bought one and liked it so much I bought 10 more and put one in every car, truck, tractor I had plus one in each room of my house. The best part of it is the zoom where it concentrates all the light in one small bright spot. It makes a perfectly round beam unlike other flashlights that scatter the light everywhere.

It can use AAA batteries but I definitely recommend that you buy the 18650 rechargeable batteries and wall charger. Even if you get 10 flashlights you only need one charger. These 18650 Ultrafire 5000 mAh 3.7 volt batteries are the best batteries on the market today. The will stay charged over a year if not used, charge fairly quickly and will outlast AAA or AA batteries many times over. You can buy 2 of these batteries and a charger on Amazon for under $10. Don't waste your time buying a 2000 or 3000 mAh battery. Keep a spare to change out 1 while the other charges if you are using the light for hours at a time.

AAA, AA, C and D batteries are as obsolete as dial phones. Once you go to 18650 batteries you will wish everything you owned used them,

This light is easily brighter than my old 5 D cell maglite. It fits in your pocket easy and is practically indestructible. Many places sell this light for $10 to $30.

It switches on and off with one full click of the button and changes modes if you give it a half click. The strobe mode can stop an attacker in his tracks and the low and middle bright mode extend battery life for hours more.

No it isn't really 3800 lumens but it is very bright, convenient and practical. Don't just buy one because after you get it you will want more and then find them at a much higher price.

The only drawback to this light is that with free shipping it takes about 3 weeks to get it.

Looks may be deceiving, BUT that looks identical (except for the name) to the Atomic Beam that I paid $19.99 for at Walmart and as advertised on TV. For sure they are blindingly bright. I have no idea how long 3 AAA batteries will last, much longer than 2-3 hours though if my other LED light is any go by. LED's consume very little energy and the brightness on this light is all from the super magnifying lens on the front, just like a light house light with that huge magnifier, 1 candle used to put out a huge light beam that ships could see for miles.

I second that, I use a flashlight everyday usually for many hours a day. My preference is a 2 AA flashlight for keeping in my pocket, I have many 3 AAA lights that do a good job and are plenty bright but it seemed I was running threw a ton of AAA batteries. I also don't pay for batteries. I would not suggest a light running off CR123 batteries due to the cost. CR123 lights last much longer and are brighter but the cost of the batteries doesn't offset the brightness in my book.

The light I have now is going on 3 years old from daily use, it's programmable on the click settings so you can start with 100% with one click, I have it set at low one click, high two clicks because I find low is good enough for most of my tasks, I only use high to flood longer distances. It's a Streamlight ProTac 2AA, I paid $30 for it off Amazon.

I have a stramlight cr123 light also but don't use it because it's much shorter so it's harder to find, it's fatter so I notice it more in my pocket.

Don't buy the cheap flashlights, they don't last, I have been using flashlights daily for about 7 years now and have ran threw a crazy amount of them, so far the steam light has held up the best and is most convenient. In my experience tactical lights hold up best.

I also have a eagle tac that's much brighter and gets really hot on ultra high after about 2 mins but the bell of the light is bigger and it's heavier. Less convent it carry.

Now the cheap light to throw in a glovebox or somewhere they might get lost, I would go with a LED 9v light. There cheap, give plenty of light and last awhile on a 9v battery.

The light is $5.50 now so I thought that was still a good price so I bought 2, plus since you gave it ten thums up, 10 stars out of 5, and you said it's one click on, you talked me into it. Nice to have a couple walk around flashlights that's bright and fits in my pocket, now I'll price the batteries you recommended.
