Poppa,
I am not really sure what the problem is, it is a very slow leak. Pretty sure it is not a yucca. I have quite a few of those, but they are easy to see and avoid. I suspect a type of cactus that is very low growing and has about a 1" thorn. Good thing is the thorns are not very stiff, so the tires tend to just bend them, but on some of the older plants, the thorns are a little stiffer. I noticed several of these types of cactus had stuck between the treads on my R4's. I think the rear tires are thick enough to withstand the thorns, but front tires are thinner. Did you get the R4's?

Yes sir, got the R-4s and I also have some very low growing cactus with nasty thorns. Look almost like a grouping of miniature barrel cactuses but about the size of a beer can and only about an inch or so actually stick up out of the ground. Didn't even know I had those until the dog started finding them. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I know that keeping a wheelbarrow, my old riderlawnmower or just about any other small air-filled tire in tact has been a challenge. All slow leaks and I assume, all cactus related. I've just about given up patching and just know I have to air everything up before I use it. Cars and trucks seem to do ok and I am hoping the Tractor is as lucky as them.

Anyway, hopefully the tractor gets delivered in the next week and one of the first jobs is bush hogging the whole area. I figure a couple days after that I should know how the tires did. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'll let you know.

My three year old daughter looked at me this morning and said, "Poppa, waiting is hard." I laughed and tried to tell her how much fun something is after you have had to wait for it for a while and how instant gratification just makes you go on to the next want. She looked at me and I could just tell she thought I was as full of #@$% as I knew I was. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I know this is an old thread but I am thinking of filling all my tires and wondering if there is any new product out there.

Or how the Arnco superflex is holding up?

Thorns are a part of life on our pastures.

Not real sure what my dealer uses, but they filled both of my front tires with sealant and the back tires with water plus sealant. No flats yet and no charge for doing it either:D

Brian

Did your dealer have any idea how long that sealant will last?

Who is your dealer?

I have't decided on a dealer yet. But Texas seems to have some good prices.

He didn't say how long it will last. I can check though since I am going by after work today to pick up my 6ft BB. The dealer I went to is Victoria Oliver Company Victoria, Texas

I've been searching for dealers and I really liked the guys over at Victoria Olivers.

I wish I could drive over and meet the guy in person and test drive the L3400 before I buy it. I've only spoken to him on the phone.

They have the best price so far.

Did you talk to Calvin or Brad?

I have spoken to so many dealers that I can't remember what his name is. I think it was Oscar.
