I was told it's not for digging! Also you just tip the bucket down, the skidsteer I have run all have stops at ground and you have to tip the bucket to dig down.

It maybe not be for 'digging' but many of us have done just that with it and everything works fine, just have to know the limitation of the machine. I dug 80 cubic yards of dirt out to flatten my back yard before using a small track loader to dig out the pool (43' x 28' True L) which is 100 cubic yards of spoil that had to be moved with my little CK20...

Your not going to dig a basement, but sometimes you need to actually dig in below grade. Example: I just pulled a bunch of bushes, and was using the loader to start popping the roots. Also, your not going to get to far if you try to dig with the bucket flat or angled up, you also generally need it angled down to do any digging.

The DK series has a float. shove the joystick past the down position. You will feel it go past a hard point and then it will stick down. It can require a good shove to put it in float. The first time I did it I thought I had busted the joystick, lever was limp, jammed down, bucket was on the ground. Then I remembered the float position.

I have a 2016 DK5510HS and I just tried the float function based on your description...seems to be engaged, joystick is limp but now I can't get it to snap out of it and return to normal FEL control. Joystick remains limp/function-less, how do I get it out of float and back to a normal functioning joystick?

There was zero tension on the joystick at all...I removed the rubber housing and discovered a square plate that mounts the stick had snapped right in half...I didn't even shove it into float very hard and it broke...now I get to go to Kioti tomorrow and find out how long it'll take for the repair and if it's hopefully warrantied.
