Pasco man rammed neighbor with tractor and log, deputies say
Tampa Bay Times|20 minutes ago
DADE CITY A Pasco County man was arrested Thursday morning after he used a tractor to drive into a neighbor's tractor, dropped a 10-foot log on him and then began to beat him, deputies say. Charles Jerkins, 46, of Dade City, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Wonder if he had a permit for the log?

The log was probably open carried, no permit needed.

Maybe this belongs in the Tractors and Wood thread?

Guess he had biggest stick in that fight.

I guess he binge watched "Walking Tall", a Buford Pusser wannabe.
Seriously though....this shows the flawed thinking of pro gun control fanatics, if someone wants to inflict harm they will find a way with whatever is available.

I wonder if a grapple was used in this "log" altercation? Would that qualify as an "auto loading" high capacity weapon? The mind boggles.. :)

Is this the same guy that chased his neighbor with a tractor last year?

Is there something bad in the water down there? (like parasites that eat the brain?)

If we just had sensible log laws, this kind of thing would be prevented.

Maybe a despute over single VS double lid grapple. Would actually make a good Jerry Springer show topic.

No, it's probably just a couple of the millions of uncouth, uneducated, low IQ idiot and former snowbird yankees from one or more of the typical northern states (where they seem to never learn how to drive) and have moved to Florida...so they can tell everyone how they "did it" up north...!...it's like magnets repelling...

I'm wondering if it was Pit Log. We know it wasn't leashed.

There are two other FloridaMan stories in the news today, but neither is TBN material.

Funny....we would only use the log for firewood, not waste it.:cool2:

My first thought, also.

Now tell us what you really think! :D

Perhaps a childproof lock on chainsaws and tractors is in order... also a background check and 30 day waiting period before buying either.

And there is no reason for the general public to own a high capacity grapple!

I wonder if it was a sawed off log.

...but a couple of those uncoth, uneducated, low IQ idiot Yankees could probably google why "FloridaMan" is a internet phenomena:

"..freedom of information laws in Florida make it easier for journalists to obtain information about arrests from the police than in other states and that this is responsible for the large number of news articles."
