Ha... Good point. Guess I should actually do more than look at it.

On my 4035 it was the bolts that hold the shaft in broke. While I was loading it to take to dealership the wheel fell off, I was lucky enough I was far enough up on trailer to pick front end up with loader and drive it the rest of the way up. Having said that I would think that it’s probably a seal but let warranty handle it cause you never know till it comes apart.

I’ve just learned that the final drives are added by the dealer. This makes the shipment easier. Anyway, more than one person, including me, have found those bolts lose. This can cause a leak on the rim. Hopefully, it’s simply torquing those bolts.

Sorry to show my noob-ness, but to which bolts are you referring? Are they easily accessible by the owner, or does the wheel have to come off?

Leave the wheel on.

The wheel attaches to the axle. The axle has pivot points that allow the front tires to move left and right. The bolts I’m referencing attach that pivot point to the axle. Imagine your lug nuts (that hold the wheel on). And now look for bolts that are in a circle like the lug nuts but about 6” inboard of the wheel.
I’ll try it another way- look for the bolts that are on the inside of the wheel and inboard by a few inches.
Maybe someone else can describe this better.....

Thanks @RNeumann - that gets me pointed in the right direction. I'll have another look around the wheel. Might even take pics and post them here (if someone doesn't beat me to it) for additional clarification. I appreciate the guidance.

Any short dogs in the area. My collie could not go by a tire a tire without marking it.

Nice wish, but most likely it is a seal , not the kind with flippers either.

Does it smell like sulphur and slippery, then it is gear oil

My B2650 had the same symptoms on the inside left rear. I noticed it when I parked it one day. I do watch it but it has not reappeared, and I work the tractor pretty hard at times.

My 2650 did the same thing , and seems to be ok now , thought maybe air pressure was a little low but it wasn't .
