The hydraulic site plug on the side of the transmission case broke off. Does anyone know the actual name of this thing or the part number I need? I have done several google searches with no luck. This is the clear site plug that shows the hydraulic fluid level.

Thanks
Wade

I purchased one and it looked right but it appears that the hole on my 06 L2800 is smooth and not threaded like the new plug is. Is there a different part that presses in like a plug?

Are they hard plastic threads or soft rubber. It may just press in.

Hard plastic with threads. I thought is might be press in but did not want to try in case there was something else I was missing. The old one was broken at the head so I could not tell if it had threads or not.

I think it is threaded if its "broken off @ at head" back it out counter clockwise and see. You could even try inserting needle nose pliers inside exposed hole ,open up ,put presser and try to turn. If not also changing all fluid I would tilt tractor away up on site glass site side, put bucket underneath to capture fluid and save. And stick a shop vac hose in refilling hose w/vac running to hold up fluid while I'am repaireing.

when the old one broke a stick must have sheared or popped it out. There isn't anything left behind that would indicate that the old one was threaded or not. The lower half (shank) that is missing either fell out with the plug or worse case, fell into the casing itself. I have looked all over the web and the same part number consistently pops up.

Thanks
