Fluorescent bulb life

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( Light bulbs, both regular and flourescent are goofy!!!! )</font>

That's about as accurate a description as I've heard. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif When we bought the place in the country, that 40 x 60 shop building was wired by an amateur (I assume) who had a collection of left over junk. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif There were 17 light "fixtures"; some of which had a single bulb, some two bulbs, some three bulbs, all incadescent. And there was an assortment of bulbs from 40 watts to 100 watts, including some that appeared to me to be antiques. I did put a fixture with two 4' florescent tubes right over my workbench where I spent the most time, but never got around to replacing those other fixtures. In 8 years, I did probably replace a dozen bulbs, but the ones that appeared to be the oldest were still working when I sold the place.

I guess you could say I'm gradually changing to florescent. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif You guys made me curious about how many light bulbs we have, so I just now counted ours (I think I counted all of them). We have four 8' florescent tubes, twenty 4' florescent tubes, nine compact florescent, three 3-way incadescent, and 48 other incadescent bulbs. I guess it'll be awhile before I get them all changed out. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
